2020: The Beginning
A-D Kay Publications was founded by Kojo Ampem Daako.
A-D Kay Publications was founded by Kojo Ampem Daako with a mission to amplify African voices through diverse genres like politics, tradition, and culture. His vision was to create a platform where African stories could reach a global audience.
2021: First Book Release
We published our first book, marking a significant milestone.
In 2021, A-D Kay Publications released its first book, a collection of essays on African politics by Kojo Ampem Daako. This debut set the tone for our commitment to thought-provoking literature.
2022: Key Partnerships
We partnered with global platforms to expand our reach.
In 2022, we formed partnerships with platforms like Amazon, Kobo, and Apple Books, making our titles accessible to readers worldwide and significantly boosting our visibility.
2024: Transition & Growth
After Kojo’s passing, Nana Kwesi Safo took over as CEO.
Following Kojo’s demise, his son Nana Kwesi Safo took over as CEO, continuing to nurture talent and expand our global reach while honoring his father’s legacy.
2025: Today
Five years strong, redefining local literature.
Now 5 years strong, we’re redefining local literature with 10+ titles, 1,600+ readers, and a commitment to global impact through diverse storytelling.

Kojo Ampem-Darko
Kojo Ampem-Darko, an educator and writer from Ghana, founded A-D Kay Publications in 2020 with a passion for combating illiteracy through literature. Inspired by the lack of African voices in global storytelling, he started the company to amplify diverse narratives in politics, tradition, and culture. His first book, Killed by Illiteracy, sold over 2,000 copies, laying the foundation for a publishing house dedicated to empowering African writers and readers. Kojo’s legacy continues to inspire through his 7 published titles and 5 upcoming works.
